Every year the Dogs' Refuge Home takes in hundreds of dogs: those that have been badly abused and neglected; those that have been loved but can no longer be cared for; and those that are simply unwanted.
The Dogs’ Refuge Home was opened in October 1935. It is one of the oldest animal welfare organisation’s in Australia. More than 80 years on, the Home is still saving more than 1000 dogs in need every year. It has become an integral part of the Western Australian community.
Tonic Digital reached out to the Dogs' Refuge in late 2020 with an interest in collaborating pro-bono. Being dog lovers and admiring such an authentic organisation, we felt there was a way we could contribute and support the not-for-profit's marketing goals.

After meeting with the Dogs' Refuge team we decided that we would pro-bono apply for and manage the Google Not-For-Profit advertising grant for the organisation month-on-month.
Between October 1st and December 31st, the search campaigns from the Google Ads Grants account produced a total of 62,671 impressions and 13,874 ad clicks to the website for $22,113 in free advertising which is a significant accomplishment.
While the volume of clicks and impressions rose by 98.92% and 121.92% respectively in comparison with the previous quarter, the ad spend jumped by 1,255% which is a significant improvement in such a short period of time.
